Multidisciplinary QI

Better improvement comes from involving the people who deliver and experience care. Learn how different professional perspectives, together with those of patients and carers, can shape meaningful change.

Who should be involved?

Start with the people closest to your improvement problem. This might include nurses, doctors, ACPs, pharmacists, AHPs, operational and data colleagues, as well as patients and carers where appropriate. There is no mandatory team mix for every project: consider whose expertise or experience is missing.

Keep improving. Share what works.

Use what you have learned to make meaningful changes in acute care. Explore more QI guidance, or see how other teams have approached similar challenges through the SAM Improvement Exchange.

Part of SAM’s developing ambition to connect practical learning, shared experience and sustained improvement in acute medicine.
