Winter SAMBA24

Society for Acute Medicine Benchmarking Audit 2024 Winter Snapshot was conducted on 22nd February 2024.

We know that winter is a busy time of year for all who work in acute medicine and all those involved in the care of acutely unwell patients. The outcomes of SAMBA24 will help us understand how our acute medicine services are performing in this increased pressures we are facing. We streamlined our data collection questions, to try to ensure data collection is as easy as possible.

Winter SAMBA24 had a focus on suspected respiratory infection, particularly community acquired pneumonia. Many patients with community acquired pneumonia are managed entirely within acute medicine services, and we need to understand whether management of these patients meet national recommendations currently. We hope that you will be able to work with the respiratory medicine teams at your hospitals to help us evaluate current performance for these patients.
