Please find enclosed the letter that I am writing to all employers.
This is to remind employers of Physician Associates (PAs), that when employing PAs the Faculty of Physician Associates strongly recommends that they only employ PAs who are registered on the PA Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR). You will have seen that the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) consultation on the regulation of physician associates by the General Medical Council (GMC) has recently closed. This is significant step, but the GMC is still not expected to open a register until the end of 2024. As such, the PAMVR is vital to ensure patient safety.
