The FAMUS working group are looking to award up to four educational bursaries worth up to
£500 each. These awards are looking to support clinicians to develop or undertake projects
which involve POCUS in improving patient care. We encourage applications from any clinicians
for any project that is associated with point of care ultrasound. The working group will review
the anonymised applications and select up to a maximum of four proposals to support.
Priority will be given to awards which align with the principles below, although we are prepared
to consider any proposal:
- Projects involving FAMUS accredited clinicians
- Projects involving FAMUS education, or work utilising FAMUS accredited scanning processes
- Projects supporting low- and middle-income countries
- Projects involving training and education in POCUS in general
- Projects that could not be undertaken without some form of financial support
It is anticipated that successful applicants will complete their work within one year and be able
to present their project at a SAM conference, webinar or within a newsletter.
Applicants should submit a maximum 300 word proposal below, outlining their project aims,
objectives and rationale for funding no later than Friday 29 May 2026.
These awards will be given at the discretion of the working group, and the committee decision
will be final. We reserve the right to limit the number of bursaries if suitable applications are not
received. We will not be able to enter into correspondence or review of the decisions made
although will endeavour to give feedback where possible.
