Past, Present and Future

Statement dated 01/09/2016

Edinburgh International Conference of Medicine: Past, Present and Future 12-13 September 2016

We would like to confirm that the forthcoming Past, Present and Future of Medicine Conference on the 12-13 September 2016 is going ahead as planned.  We are aware of the potential for further industrial action in relation to the junior doctors’ contract in England with the first action scheduled to take place from Monday 12 September onwards.

In light of the numbers of delegates who have committed to attend from all over the world and the commitment of our speakers, after careful consideration we have decided to proceed as planned.

Given the uncertainty for many of you working within the NHS in England, we have removed the late payment fee to allow delegates to continue to register with no financial penalty.

Thank you for your continued support.

We are delighted to announce that the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the Society for Acute Medicine, in association with the Scottish Intensive Care Society, will be holding a conference on 12 – 13 September 2016 on the Past, Present and Future of Medicine.

This conference will combine the historical aspects of medicine with a look into the future for healthcare across a very broad range of clinical topics.  It will be held in the wonderful facilities of the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

We invite all healthcare specialists who work in acute and general medicine, from doctors in training to senior consultants, academics, nurses, AHPs and pharmacists, to register.

The Conference has been approved for 12 CPD points.  CPD Activity Code 102629
