A big thank you again to those who contributed to SAMBA ‘13, the Society for Acute Medicine’s Benchmarking Audit. The audit has been a real success in that it attracted 43 units, data from over 1400 patients and contributions from nearly 100 Acute Physicians from all over the UK. You have probably seen the first publication in Acute Medicine (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24364052). A second paper is currently being prepared for submission in Clinical Medicine. Feedback indicates that participating AMUs have found that SAMBA offers insights into their function, helps both good practice and areas for improvement and acts as a spur to better performance.
The date for SAMBA ’14 has now been announced: We are inviting your Unit to join SAMBA on Thursday the 19th of June 2014.
Are you considering to take part? In this case we would be grateful if you could help us to prepare SAMBA ’14 by filling this online survey.https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/YJDTNTH
To have everybody audit on the same day gives us probably a stronger voice. For those of you who can’t make this date at all there is the option to collect data on the 12th of June, quasi as a pilot for the main event.
Many thanks once again for considering to contribute to this National Audit project.
