Addressed to all clinicians (from Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Acute Medicine, Intensive Care etc). A previous minimal experience in ultrasound is desirable but not mandatory.
Aim: To more accurately assess the patient with acute abdominal pain at the bed side and quickly distinguish the medical from the surgical patient.
The abdominal aorta and detection of free intra-abdominal fluid.
The liver, gallbladder and biliary tree (liver abscess, gallstones, acute cholecistitis, obstructed CBD); the kidney and urinary tract (hydronephrosis, urinary retention, CKD); the large and small bowel (small bowel obstruction, acute diverticulitis, acute appendicitis, IBD, colitis).
